The Challenge of Wireless Communications and Their Infrastructure” Opening Conference of Wireless & Towers 2026

The conference programme for Wireless & Towers 2026 is now available online. The event is the first international exhibition and conference dedicated to transmission towers, infrastructure, technologies and equipment for telecommunications, broadcasting, satcom, geospatial applications, security, smart cities, emergency services and
territorial management. It will be held in Bologna, the birthplace of Guglielmo Marconi, universally recognized as the father of wireless communication.

The exhibition will open on Wednesday, 7 October, with the conference entitled “The Challenge of Wireless Communications and Their Infrastructure.” The event will provide an opportunity for discussion at a time when new models for service delivery are emerging and important regulatory and licensing milestones are approaching, both of which are expected to reshape the sector.

Additional conferences scheduled for the same day will focus on topics including “5G Broadcasting and Opportunities for Content Creators” (covering the current state of technology, deployment prospects and market opportunities), “Direct-to-Device and Low- and Medium-Earth Orbit Constellations” (examining integration models with terrestrial networks and the development prospects of a market set to redefine the concept of mobile coverage), and “Hardware and Software”. The latter will explore the next technological and industrial challenges facing the sector, highlighting how components and antennas can contribute to the competitiveness of the telecommunications ecosystem.

On Thursday, 8 October, the programme will feature the conferences “Private Cellular Networks” and “The Local Wireless Dimension and Its Integration/Coexistence/Competition with WAN Networks”. The first will examine the current state of the market, key use cases, opportunities for businesses and public administrations, dedicated private network models and virtual solutions offered by mobile operators. The second will analyse the prospects for integration, coexistence and competition between local wireless networks and WAN networks, together with
their technological, regulatory and market implications.
